Dance recital program examples
A dance recital program is mostly lists: which number, which class, the music, who choreographed it, and the names of every dancer in it. Families read it to find their dancer.
The parts
- Cover: studio name, show title, date, time, place.
- Acts: Act One, Intermission, Act Two. Number the routines straight through the show.
- Each number: title, music (song and artist or composer), the class or level, the choreographer, and "dancers in this number".
- Thanks: costume parents, the tech crew, the venue.
- Ads: local sponsors and "ads from parents" (a page or half page with a photo and a message to a dancer). They usually go at the back, before the back cover.
Tips from the examples
- List dancers alphabetically within each number, so families can scan.
- Put the class name on the right, in small capitals, so the number titles line up.
- Check music credits: the song title and artist as released, not the name of the track file.
- Ads from parents: set a deadline a week before printing and ask for images at least 1200 pixels wide.
